Marielle Bouliane and Anne-Marie Rodrigue, Honorary Co-Presidents
Message from Ms. Marielle Bouliane
First of all, it is with great pleasure that I am acting as honorary co-president of the Alzheimer Society Walk. As you know, this disease is unfortunately still taboo and it scares a great number of people who are ageing, as well as their families. The lack of information on this disease and the stigma associated with memory loss among the elderly makes it such that individuals choose not to discuss it and as a result the screening is often too late.
Similarly to all the other foundations or organization in the region, the Alzheimer Society of Chaudière-Appalaches really needs our cooperation in order to continue supporting its clientele. So, yes, let's walk for this cause. We are so fortunate here, in Chaudière-Appalaches, to be able to count on this association that helps people suffering from Alzheimer's as well as their loved ones. I am extremely grateful to you for making this event, a real event.
I invite the entire population to take part in this walk; I will be there with my grandchildren in the hope that if one day we would have to learn to live with this disease, we would have the necessary support. Once again, thank you for your support.
Finally, I am challenging all owners of homes for the aged to participate in this event by talking about it or by recreating in their own environment an event, which will help collect funds for this organization and in turn bring a huge support to our clientele.
Sincerely yours!
Marielle Bouliane

Message from Madame Anne-Marie Rodrigue
Hello to all,
It is with great pleasure that I have accepted the co-presidency of this first edition of the Memory Walk for the Alzheimer Society in our region. I proudly join forces with Madame Boulianne and this organization.
Several reasons have drawn me to this cause. Firstly, because Alzheimer's disease is still unknown to the general population and is often viewed as a taboo subject. Secondly, so that the Alzheimer Society of Chaudière-Appalaches can provide, through their services, a better quality of life to those suffering from the disease, but mostly to loved ones, families and caregivers. Finally, because I don't want any of my acquaintances to forget about me, and because I don’t want to forget about any of them. "Forget-me-not".
I'll be expecting you there on May 25th.
